Dr. Yetman is a board certified obesity medicine physician dedicated to helping children and adolescents achieve healthier lives. At Metropolitan Pediatrics, Dr. Yetman leads a clinic that offers comprehensive, evidence-based care for young patients struggling with weight-related health issues.

 

With a focus on both physical and emotional well-being, Dr. Yetman works closely with families to develop personalized treatment plans that include nutrition counseling, physical activity guidance, behavioral support, and medical management to address the complex factors contributing to childhood obesity, from genetics and lifestyle to social and emotional influences.

 

She believes in a family-centered, non-judgmental approach that empowers children to build lifelong healthy habits in a supportive and encouraging environment.

 

Her goal is not just weight management, but also improved self-esteem, energy, and overall health outcomes for every child.

Our collobration with Berry Street Dietician, Jennifer Hanft, MS, RD

Jennifer Hanft NutritionWe are excited to announce our newest collaboration with Berry Street dietitian, Jennifer Hanft, MS, RD who has more than fifteen years of experience. With a strong background in Medical Nutrition Therapy, she supports clients in managing a variety of conditions, including heart disease,diabetes, and polycystic ovary syndrome. Jennifer is also dedicated to disease prevention and promoting healthy aging. Her areas of specialization include pediatrics, women’s health, and geriatrics.


Since becoming a mother, Jennifer has dedicated herself to researching and implementing evidence-based methods for feeding infants, children, and families. Her practical experience with her two young children has fueled her passion for sharing this knowledge with other families. Jennifer actively participates in the Starting Solids & Picky Eating Networks for Health Professionals.

Jennifer has also specialized in geriatric nutrition, primarily working in clinical settings, both in medical institutions and home-based care. She strongly believes in the potential of nutrition to enhance health and promote longevity, following a Health At Every Size (HAES) informed approach.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from James Madison University and completed her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from New 
York University. In addition to her nutrition work, Jennifer teaches yoga in Northern Virginia and is currently pursuing certification in prenatal and
postpartum yoga. You’ll often find her spending time with her two young children in nature, tending to her garden, or experimenting in her kitchen.
