He’s wonderful. He’s very calming and reassuring – to me and my daughter! He’s a very gentle person so my daughter responds well to his examinations. For the few medical problems we’ve had he has been very reassuring – listening to my concerns and then saying, “I’m sure she will be fine.” And she is! …
I would highly recommend him. We like him very much. He is very personable. He has taken care of our kids for the last six years. He takes personal interest in each care and remembers lots of details about their health history. He has got a very good relationship with the kids. The kids don’t mind going to the doctor. We moved away a little bit. We like him so much that we drive for 40 minutes to see him. If I call with a question, he is the one who returns the call and it is not the nurse or anybody else from his staff, who calls back….
Dr. Gandhi was a referral, and we have not been disappointed. We have been working with him as our infant son’s primary care pediatrician since our boy’s birth. Dr. Gandhi has proven very attentive, and quite patient with the phobias that come with first-time parenthood. He is also excellent at identifying and warning you in advance of the things you will see with a new-born, letting you know what is normal and standard to pre-empt potential over-reaction. However, he is also admittedly conservative in his approach, ensuring detailed follow upon even the seemingly most slight symptoms. He caught a condition in our son with simple stethoscope that was missed by several other doctors at the birth of our child and by some very high-technology tools during the pre-natal period. On a final point, one of the most valued aspects of Dr. Gandhi’s practice is his accessibility. We haven’t tested this to any major degree, but early indications are that Dr. Gandhi’s stated accessibility is backed up in practice. He has followed up consistently with phone calls to check on outstanding matters, showing both attention to his work as well as a genuine interest in our child’s condition. He also has office hours on Saturday as needed. I am not sure we could ask for more from a pediatrician…..
We love Dr. McCarthy. She is hip, real, responsive, friendly and all the things we look for in a pediatrician. I like that the office communicates through an online portal, which helps us keep track of things. I also love that they are open on Saturdays and except walk-ins.
We took our son to Metropolitan Pediatrics from the time he was an infant (I gave birth at VHC and Dr. Gandhi was always available with any issues my son had while we were there) to 9 months. We really liked the practice and were forced to switch only because of a move.
We saw Drs Gandhi and McCarthy and always came away from the appointments with our questions answered and comfortable with what they told us – both very important for new parents. We never felt rushed during the appts and always felt like they gave honest answers, and not “textbook” ones.
I had to call a few times during office hours about issues with my baby, and Dr. McCarthy always called back in a relatively short amount of time (none of my issues were very serious).
The waiting room is small and we didn’t always get a seat, but there were toys and cartoons on to entertain everyone while we waited. And the front desk staff was always friendly.
Parking was convenient and easy.
I would highly recommend Metropolitan Pediatrics to anyone in the area looking for a small, personal practice with pediatricians who really care about their patients!
I wish there was a sixth star to give here. The service provided, location convenience, and even the layout and design of the office is wonderful.
It is difficult to over-praise their use of technology for scheduling, record keeping, and communication as well.
Wonderful practice. Every time my family is in the area we will be using them!
